Having any type of nail service should never cause any discomfort, or pain of any kind. If it does, then the tech is at fault. Find a better salon with experienced, and highly skilled nail techs. Avoid the discount salons at all costs. Those places are known to overfile your nails, and cause you unnecessary pain. Many people will tell you that the nail must be %26#039;roughed%26#039; up for the acrylic, or gel to adhere. But, this is not true. Only a very gentle hand filing with a 240 grit file is needed to remove the shine from the natural nail. No more than that is needed to enable the acrylic - or gel, to form a chemical bond and adhere well to your natural nails. %26#039;Roughing%26#039; them up is not at all necessary. This practice of roughing up your natural nails is most often the reason for discomfort, or painful nail services.
Reply:Well the first time I had mine done the filing felt weird, not too bad, just wierd and it definatly didn%26#039;t hurt. Now waxing, that hurts the first time!
