im in a private school and im going to another private high school nexxt year.


im scared beacuse of the first day


i dont know one person, were anything is


and there are not many people so for lunch i bet i will be sitting alone!


plus there are really cute guys and thats intimidating


please help im really scared

Reply:Why are you scared of high school? For me, these were the best moments of my life (thus far); my school became my home. I am graduating this Friday, and I am extremeley depressed. You won%26#039;t be the only one who doesn%26#039;t know anybody; there will be plenty of people in a similar situation to your own. Don%26#039;t worry about it.
Reply:just be yourself, and act natural. If you go in and are nervous, other people will be able to see that. Bring a book or your ipod or something to do if you end up sitting alone for lunch so you don%26#039;t look %26quot;sad and lonely%26quot;. If you want to make friends, a good way to drum up conversation is to keep an eye and ear out for people who like the same things you do, music, movies, etc. Don%26#039;t be too scared to jump into a conversation with someone. I wouldn%26#039;t try it in groups, they might just see you as annoying, but trust me, that works on people. They aren%26#039;t scary monsters. They are other kids your age. dindt know a single soul. i ate lunch with someone i found and introduced myself. dont sweat it its not htat bad. its NOTHING like tv. private schools tend to be more open to people so ull fit right in chill :] message me if u want a FULL like play by play fo my first day at a private school if u want.

To me actually, I used to have


the same thoughts of high school but


afterall, everything was all good! I made


numerous friends that I thought I would never


make.

Reply:I changed schools in the middle of the year when i was in the 8th grade. Now I was really out of place the only person I knew was my sister and she was in the 12th so she even treated me like she did not know me. But u know how I got thru it was my attitude and confidence. I started getting in good with teachers then people(my peers) saw how much they enjoyed me and they let me got ot the office and run errands for them. I was not a teachers pet I was a confident kid. Soooo after that 1 friend became 4 then 4 became 20 and so on...Saying all that to say just be confident and really easy going but not dingy and people(peers) will see that you are very approchable and want to hang with u!

But I found it best to just be myself, be friendly, ask others where things were, as chances are if you speak to others, they take you under their wings, so to speak, and thus that leads onto friendship! A girl actually approached me, and I took to her instantly, she was kind enough to show me around etc, and we became goof friends through out the rest of my school years. Don%26#039;t be frightened to ask people directions, where things are, ask if you can sit with them etc etc etc. You%26#039;ll be surprised at how friendly other pupils will be, and just ignore the horrid! Reply:You sound like a nice person. I think within the fist week or two you will make friends. You answered your own question in that although there are not many people when you go to lunch don%26#039;t pick out a table with many people sitting there.


Instead pick out a table with 1 or 2 girls ( I presume you are a girl ) sitting by themselves %26amp; as you sit down say %26quot; I hope you don%26#039;t mind if I sit here ? %26quot; They will probably welcome your company %26amp; engage them in conversartion telling them you are new %26amp; asking them about the school %26amp; what it is like ?

Now neither one of you is alone.

There will be other kids in the classes.


By the end of the first week, you%26#039;ll know some of them.





Maybe that other kid who was eating lunch by him/herself


you recognize from class.


So you go up to them, %26quot;Aren%26#039;t you in Mr Smith%26#039;s geometry class ?%26quot;





You can always start a conversation about the homework,


or the teacher, or the sports teams, or the weather!





And you join a club or two ...





It all takes care of itself very quickly.
